Frequently Asked Questions
Learn How it Works!
How does a Recovery Room Telehealth appointment work?
You can schedule an appointment through the online portal.
Once you have scheduled your appointment, you will receive an email that includes intake forms, so the provider will have your medical history, chief complaint, current medications, and preferred pharmacy prior to your visit.
You and the provider will review your medical history, conduct the telehealth visit, and the provider will send any necessary prescriptions to your pharmacy at the conclusion of the visit.
Why don’t you treat mental health complaints?
At Recovery Room, we understand the importance of continuity in mental health care. While telehealth is a suitable method of receiving care for mental health complaints, we endorse an approach that includes both medical management and counseling by a licensed mental health provider. We will offer this service in the future, but we are not currently able to offer this service to our clients.
How much does it cost?
The mission of Recovery Room Telehealth is to make accessing care convenient, safe, and affordable. We believe that virtual care is the way of the future, and we want to ensure that our Recovery Room clients have an opportunity to receive care from a team they know and trust.
All telehealth appointments are self-pay $75. Clients can typically use HSA/FSA accounts to pay for their services if they choose to do so.
What complaints do you not manage?
Not all complaints can be managed through telehealth. We do not treat the following:
-
Chronic illnesses
-
Autoimmune disorders
-
Mental Health
-
Diabetes
-
Hypertension
-
Hypercholesterolemia
-
Acute or chronic pain requiring treatment with opioids or other controlled substances
What if I need lab work?
Recovery Room offers limited laboratory services that must be scheduled by your provider. Your provider will never require lab work associated with your telehealth visit call; however, if you and your provider determine that you would benefit from specific lab tests then that is available upon request. All labs are collected on-site at Recovery Room and processed through Coast Diagnostics in Mobile, AL.
Do you prescribe controlled substances?
Recovery Room will never prescribe controlled substances. If you believe you require a controlled substance, please seek out a provider that is able to meet those needs.
